PDF.
The Official language of the conference is English. All papers
should be written in English and all presentations should be presented in
English.
EUDEM2-SCOT 2003 TOPICS
The following key topics will be covered:
1. Mechanical/Vehicles/Robotics
Mechanical Demining Equipment and vegetation cutting (Performance and Guidance)
Soil/Area Taxonomies/physical characteristics/vegetation/constraints/environment
Training, Manning and logistical Realities
Remotely Operated Devices
Autonomously Operated Devices/Robotics
2. Anomaly Detection Sensors
Electromagnetic Induction (MD, EMI, etc…)
Radar (GPR, SAR, …)
Electro-optical & Imaging Sensors (IR, Multi-spectral, X-Ray, Radiometer, …)
Seismic/Acoustic Sensors
Emphasis on the potential of mathematical methods for buried object reconstruction, taking into account: maximum exhaustion of the information contained in anomaly scan data, by (a) modelling of measurement processes, (b) formulation of specific inverse problems, and (c) fast numerical algorithms for approximate solutions, is encouraged.
3. Confirmation Sensors
Trace Vapour detection systems (Chemical/Biological)
Bulk Explosives Detection (Nuclear, NQR, ….)
Dogs/rats, ...
4. Minefield Survey
Space borne systems & GIS
Airborne systems & GIS
5. Data Fusion:
Sensor Fusion Methodologies
Multi-Sensor Platform
6. Post Detection Technologies
Disposal, Quality Assurance, Excavation
7. Miscellaneous/general
Personal Protection Equipment
Prodders
Needs for demining
Needs & Balances (NATO perspective)
INDUSTRY-FOCUSED SESSIONS AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES FROM THE FIELD
Industry-oriented
and practical papers are also solicited. By bringing together
researchers from industry and academia, and deminers, the Technical Program Committee hopes to
foster communication and promote transfer of ideas among these communities.
A brief statement of purpose
for the sessions as well as the abstracts of the papers to be included should be submitted . A
permanent exhibition space will be organised for demonstrations of equipment (see
Call for Exhibitors and Sponsorship).
